score to score Music

Score To Score Music is a music engraving service that offers score and part preparation, transposition, musical example graphics, sound files, and custom arrangements (see samples). I have been using Finale since 1995 an have worked as a copyist and arranger for the US Air Force Band (ret. 2016) as well as clients throughout the Washington DC area. I am currently a freelance engraver/copyist and work remotely for private clients. If you have any questions or are in need of short or long term services, please contact me anytime.

music engraving is basically turning this…

…into this!

So, if you need things in your life like:

  • Your own music engraved and parts prepared for performance on paper or iPad - all music is digitally rendered so you can print your own or read from a tablet.

  • Musical examples (graphics) for your dissertation, term paper, or publications - I didn’t realize this was so in demand until I me with some frazzled doctoral candidates desperately try to finish their paper on time.

  • Orchestral transcriptions for your school band - I do my own from time to time but a new commission for your band is very exciting.

  • Ensemble arrangements and transpositions for your church ensemble and choir - there is more to instrumental church music than a flute descant. Let’s talk.

  • New repertoire for your chamber ensemble (traditional or unusual) - I love weird ensembles and have no problem transcribing beloved classics for them.

Contact me and we'll work something out.

arrangements

Everyone loves an origin story, so here is mine. I first started scratching out arrangements back in the 1980's. This was a time when sheet music still came from physical stores. I was mesmerized by the shelves and shelves of piano and guitar music but, as a clarinet player, my choices of sheet music were usually contained in a single sad little bin along with flute, oboe, bassoon, and saxophone. Even though the bins are mostly digital now, I hope to enlarge them. The arrangements constructed over the following years, for better or worse, have been my attempt to not let the restrictions of instrumentation prevent me from realizing music I find interesting. The rabbit hole of the Internet has only encouraged this. Please visit THE SHOP to see (and especially purchase) some of the results.
